Financial vehicle corporations

This dataset captures the contribution of financial vehicle corporations resident in Spain to the aggregated euro area financial vehicle corporation statistics, providing a detailed view of their financial position. The information is compiled within the framework of the financial and monetary statistics produced by the Banco de España, in coordination with the Eurosystem, and is consistent with the methodological principles of the European System of Accounts (ESA) and the statistical guidelines of the European Central Bank.

The series provide information on end-of-period balances for the main balance sheet items of financial vehicle corporations, on both the asset and liability sides. Key variables include cash and deposits, debt securities, securitised loans, debt securities issued, loans and financial derivatives. This breakdown makes it possible to analyse the financial structure of the funds and their role in funding markets.

The dataset also includes specific detail on securitised loans originated by monetary financial institutions in the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU), with information disaggregated by the institutional sector of the counterparty - non-financial corporations, households and other sectors - and, in some cases, by residual maturity band. These series facilitate the monitoring of securitised credit granted to the real economy and its distribution across economic agents, which is relevant for analysing the transmission of monetary policy and financial stability.

The data refer to Spain as the reporting area, are expressed in euros, and cover transactions denominated in all currencies. They are intended for analysts, researchers and users interested in non-bank financial intermediation statistics, the monitoring of securitisation markets and macroeconomic and financial analysis.
