General government financial transactions

Identifier: BDE-D-000031

Description

This dataset provides detailed information on the financial transactions of Spain’s General Government, compiled in accordance with the European System of Accounts (ESA 2010) and within the methodological framework of the Excessive Deficit Procedure (EDP). The series enable an integrated analysis of the quarterly changes in financial assets and liabilities of the General Government sector, offering a comprehensive view of its financial behaviour.

The data cover financial transactions associated with the main instruments on both the asset and liability sides, including currency and deposits, debt securities - distinguishing between short- and long-term maturity -, loans, equity and investment fund shares, insurance, pension and standardised guarantee schemes, financial derivatives, and other accounts receivable and payable. In addition, the dataset provides a breakdown by counterpart sector, distinguishing transactions with other general government units, resident sectors and the rest of the world.

This dataset constitutes a key reference for macroeconomic analysis, fiscal surveillance, and compliance with national and European statistical reporting requirements.
