Identifier: BDE-D-000034
This statistical dataset provides quarterly information on General Government debt under the Excessive Deficit Procedure (EDP), compiled in accordance with the European System of Accounts (ESA 2010). The statistics allow for a harmonised analysis of the evolution of public debt in Spain, serving as a key reference for fiscal monitoring and for meeting the reporting requirements of the European Union’s economic governance framework.
The dataset includes the total EDP government debt of the General Government sector and its breakdown by financial instrument - currency and deposits, debt securities and loans - distinguishing the remaining maturity. In addition, it provides detailed information on the holding sectors of the general government debt, covering amounts held by financial institutions, the Banco de España, other resident sectors, the rest of the world and total resident holders, as well as a breakdown by currency (euro and foreign currency).
