We launch the new Banco de España Data Catalogue

Banco de España presents its new Data Catalogue, a single access point to discover, consult, and reuse the institution’s main datasets.

In this first phase, the catalogue brings together datasets from the Banco de España Statistics section along with data from BELab (Banco de España Data Lab), offering a structured, well-documented, and accessible view of key economic and financial information. The catalogue is designed as a living resource that will be progressively expanded with new datasets and thematic areas.

What type of information will you initially find?

  • National and financial accounts of corporations, households, and public institutions.
  • Public Administrations’ debt, with annual and quarterly time series.
  • Liquidity and financing indicators for non-financial sectors.
  • Economic and financial statistics with different levels of frequency and detail.
  • BELab datasets, aimed at research and advanced analysis.

Key features of the catalogue

  • Open and reusable data, available in standard formats such as CSV, JSON, XLSX, or XML.
  • BELab datasets for investigators
  • Regular updates, with daily, monthly, quarterly, or annual information depending on the dataset.
  • Open licenses (CC BY 4.0) that facilitate reuse.
  • Comprehensive documentation and metadata, including methodology and related regulations.
  • Centralized access, designed for researchers, analysts, developers, journalists, and the general public.

A catalogue in evolution

This launch marks the beginning of a growing project. In the coming months, new datasets will be incorporated, expanding the scope and value of the catalogue as a tool for transparency, economic analysis, and data-driven innovation.
